The 2026 reality: Digital fragmentation in franchising

Franchise and multi-site performance is a last mile game. The brand promise only holds when standards show up in real work, in every store, branch, venue, depot, clinic, or job site, on every shift. That is the context. The stakes are simple: when execution is consistent, you get predictable operations, fewer surprises, and a better customer experience. When execution drifts, you get variance, risk, and slow change.

The problem is not a lack of intent. The problem is that many franchise and multi-site operators have built the digital workplace in layers. Tools get added to solve specific issues - onboarding, comms, training, forms, audit evidence - and over time the experience becomes fragmented.

In this report, we reveal the extent of this fragmentation and how it's holding franchise systems back.
