Claromentis Terminology

AD (Active Directory) is a directory structure used on Microsoft Windows based computers and servers to store information and data about networks and domains. Claromentis support AD integration.

Admin Panels is the back-end of each Claromentis application.

API (Application Programming Interface) is an interface defining the ways by which Claromentis may request services from or to another system. It allows programmer to create bespoke application within Claromentis Framework.

Breadcrumb trail is a navigation aid which can be displayed in Publish Pages. It gives users a way to keep track of their location within structure of Intranet or web pages.

Components is a small PHP script which can be inserted anywhere on claromentis interface file.

Config or config file is a main configuration file of Claromentis containing the database details. Config file in claromentis is located within /intranet/common/

DAL (Database Abstraction Layer) is application programming interface which unifies the communication between Claromentis business logic and different type of databases such as MySQL MS SQL and Oracle.

FCK Editor is an opensource WYISWYG editor used in Publish, News, and Bookshelf application.

Iframe is an inline frame for the inclusion of external objects including other HTML documents or web pages in Publish Page.

Infobar is the left hand side column in Claromentis. User can toggle the visibility of infobar to maximise the screen real estate.

• My infobar is user personalised infobar, it can be accessed or managed from People application.

• Company infobar is the permission based infobar which is managed from infobar admin panel.

InfoCapture is the key application in Claromentis Process Manager product. It has built-in electronic form builder with workflow and processes.

• InfoCapture Plug-ins is a special PHP code which can be added in InfoCapture application to provide special functionality which isn’t available by default.

InnerTemplate is pre-populated page content which can be accessed from FCK Editor. Inner template can be created using an XML file.

Lightbox is a special place in Image Gallery application allowing user to collect photos from several albums, which then can be downloaded at once.

Metadata also known as ‘data about other data’ is a collection of information which made up properties of an object in Claromentis. Metadata in claromentis can be managed from Metadata admin panel.

PHP is scripting language which is used to write most of Claromentis applications

Publish is the name of Content Management System application within Claromentis.

• Publish Page is a web page created using Publish.

Template most commonly refered as Publish template is html file which consist of special tags which can be edited through Publish application. Publish template can be created from publish admin panel

Templater is a method of rendering Claromentis business logic which is written in PHP into visual representative. This method allows separation of the codes from the visual content.

Smart Objects are used to embed some parts of Claromentis applications into publish pages or even usual pages of other applications. Example implementation would be displaying news from marketing channel in marketing page.

SSO (Single sign-on) is a property of access control of multiple, related, but independent software systems. With this property a user logs in once and gains access to all systems without being prompted to log in again at each of them.

VI (Visual Interface) also commonly known as skin or theme is visual representation of Claromentis business logic. Visual Interface consist of html, css and image files which user see in the browser. Learn how to create VI

Header header of the page contains these following elements:

• Head Access area showing Log-on as , log-out button and feature to change stylesheet
• Page Top also known as banner this is where the main branding such as company logo is usualy located, sometime search box also can be found on this area.

• Horizontal Menu area where main navigation system usualy can be found.
• Status Bar status area for action confirmation as well as link to calendar and trash can.

Infobar left column is where the vertical navigation usualy located as well as personal infobar or company infobar.

Footer is the bottom element of the page.

Page Content is the main content of the page. If you create template for the internal page, you simply need to style/design this area only. Read how to create publish template
