As part of our quality management system under ISO 9001 Claromentis have introduced prototyping as a critical step in our large works development process.
The aim is to reduce and reworking requirements that can arise because the flow between screens cannot be accurately captured by Photoshop mock ups in a static document.
Such reworks are expensive for Claromentis and cause delays in project execution that are frustrating for the client.
The following are guidelines when viewing a Claromentis prototype :
Ignore all styling. Final application styling will be provided by
CSS
Icons will also be added as required – any simplistic example icons should be ignored in terms of their quality.
Remember that a prototype does not see the system through a permission engine. We emulate this by providing examples of data at various points where certain functionality like ‘edit’ is present on some data, not on others.
Not all small details are prototyped – but all major flows are and if you expected something to be a clickable link but it is not please check with us – providing the screen name and the text – with a summary of what you expected the link to go to.
Recognize that there is no actual business code – a prototype is a simulation. So for example if there is a check box marked ‘delete’ and a button to proceed then selecting the check box and pressing the button will not actually delete the data – it will however take you to the next screen for that action.
When you are satisfied with the prototype you need to sign off the prototype by sending an email to your account manager. The code will then commence and any change requests after this sign off will go into a formal process and attract a cost for implementation as required.
The prototype has been created by your Claromentis information architect and sales consultant working together in order to provide a high quality service to you. By taking the time to review this work we will ultimately be able to deliver a quality product that reflects are agreements from the meetings when this project was discussed.
We very much look forward to receiving your feedback on your prototype and scheduling the next phase of this work for you as soon as the prototype is approved.
