View effective permissions

An extremely useful feature for permissions was made available in the 5.6 platform to allow you to monitor the impact of permission changes or assignments at the individual user level.

All permission dialog boxes now display an icon to assess the implications of the currently selected permissions.

Clicking on this icon will show the individual user permissions based on your current selection for users, groups, roles and extranet areas:

As an intranet site grows over time permissions can become complex - view effective permissions is an excellent way of confirming the implications of your current selections before applying them.
