Discuss is a one to one real time chat application with any online user in the intranet. To start using this application, user just needs to set the “Discuss” visual interface. User does not need any other additional permission to use this application.

User can discuss as well as use other applications within Claromentis simultaneously. This is possible because while using Discuss, there is a small window floating on top of other applications. This floating window does not stop a user from doing there other activities.

User can show/hide discuss window anytime they wish. If the window is hidden and other user sends a message or initiates chat with you, you will be prompted by the discuss button about this unread message or new chat.

Discuss allows a user to chat with five different users at one time. If a user is discussing with a user among the five opened conversations and other user among five users sends him a message, that user tab flashes to remind the user about new message.

“Discuss” is always hidden at the top left of the screen. It is not affected by which part of the page user is viewing.

When user hover-over the mouse on the button, it slides out as shown in the above screenshot.

Click on the “Discuss” button to start the real time chat. By clicking on the “Discuss” button, “Discuss” window slides out and you will see the list of online users.

To hide discuss, click on the “hide” link.

There is an inbuilt search functionality to search among the online users.

Click on the name/photo of the user you wish to start the discussion with.

You will be automatically focused to the new tab opened with the selected user.

The name and photo of the user you are discussing with would be listed with your name and photo on the left part of the window. These details can be hidden by clicking on the line separating the window.

To start conversation with the selected user type in the area provided at the bottom of the window. Click on the “Send” button or press <enter> to send the message.

Other user would be notified by the discuss button popping out in blue color if the discuss window is not opened.

If the discuss window is opened then the user is notified by flashing the tab (if the user’s active tab is different from the user sending message or else he/she would directly see the message).

There can be maximum five numbers of discussions opened at a time. If user has five active discussions and tries to open another discussion he/she will get notified by a pop-up message.

While viewing list of users from “Home”, the users having five active discussions will be marked as “busy”. If you try to initiate chat with busy users, you will be notified by a pop-up message.
