Linux is a rapidly growing environment in terms of market share, and as an application framework coded entirely in PHP Claromentis is fully available on the Linux platform. In fact Claromentis is developed on the LAMP stack.

All Claromentis Linux Intranet Solutions have a complete database abstraction layer which allows the users full choice of databases. Claromentis installed on Linux can have the database running on Oracle as well as MySQL.

In this environment the default configuration is to run on the Linux operating system, using the Apache web server and a MySQL database.

We support the major distributions of Unix / Linux : including the following popular Linux distributions : Red Hat, Debian, Ubuntu, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Gentoo, Suze and Mandrake. It is interesting to note that there are currently over 300 Linux distributions that are actively developed, although 10-15 are the most popular for general use - Claromentis supports all of these common distributives but if you require clarification on whether your Linux environment is supported by us please just contact us - we will be pleased to help.

Claromentis can also be installed on a Linux application server with a windows database server using MSSQL.

Linux Intranet Solutions offer extreme stability and speed, as well as protection from virus attacks. Our own software as a service offering uses Linux servers, with multiple installations of Claromentis running on single instances of the LAMP stack.

In terms of user access the server environment is of course transparent - the solution is entirely web based and thin client - users can access the software via any common browser such as Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome or Safari.

The files and information layer managed by Claromentis deployed as a Linux intranet solution will often be Microsoft based - such as standard office files - this is completely normal and fully supported.
