User Management

Like all Claromentis applications active directory is fully supported if required, or users can be managed by the powerful People Application. Where content is being prepared for suppliers or partners, the product can work in mixed mode, with employees benefiting from single sign on while external users log in with a username and password.

Those clients that use single sign on are also able to control additional user information from within the Claromentis Framework solutions, allowing just standard information such as name, email and basic data to be synchronised with active directory.

Menu & Breadcrumb Trail Builder

The Publish application constructs menus and breadcrumb trails automatically, based on the site structure. The menus themselves are also built based on each users permissions, so that different groups of users will actually see different menus to best meet their needs. Designers can choose from a range of customizable styles.

Powerful clipboard functionality enables easy management of information. To ensure information integrity, whenever pages are deleted copied or moved Claromentis runs an automatic check on all references to eliminate the risk of 'dead links'.

Internal designers, agencies or Claromentis designers can create mock ups that on approval can rapidly be turned into easy to use Claromentis templates for page creation and content management. Templates themselves are separated into categories to simplify the selection of layouts available to departments, offices, business units or any other relevant division.

Smart Objects

With the release of Smart Objects Claromentis has extended the way information can be made available across the enterprise. Previously static links to PDFs and Application files and folders was easy to use and for most companies met the main business need of putting information in context for users that utilised browsing as their default method of looking for information, rather than immediate searching. As the links would automatically point to the latest version of documents integrity is always maintained, without the risk of users finding out of date information. While this approach is still valuable, smart objects provide a true window from the content managed page to other information stores, as seen by the user through the permission engine. These might be documents, forum posts or even news items, they can be filtered and displayed as required in the context of the relevant content managed page, without changing their appearance in the native application.

For example a Marcoms page might have a corporate news section, on which a smart object will automatically display the latest 5 snippets from only the corporate news channel in the Claromentis news system.
