PHP Developer

Location: Brighton UK

Claromentis is a successful Internet-based software company with products ranging from Intranet Solutions, CRM, Enterprise CMS, Project Management and bespoke solutions to businesses around the world (UK, US, Australia, Middle East, Asia, Russia).

We require an enthusiastic PHP developer to join our small team in our Brighton Office to expand and enhance our web-based Corporate Intranet and Portal Software.

Our e-form and Sales Manager applications are highly customizable and we need developers who can easily and rapidly interact with sales and design resources to provide the additional functionality required.

After an initial period of familiarization with our code and API, you will be expected to produce code enhancements and new applications in our framework with continual support and advice from our remote developers, testers and system administrators as required.

Our Brighton office already has extremely strong Information Architect and (X)HTML & CSS coding skills that you will be expected to work alongside in close cooperation.

• Enhance core applications within Claromentis framework for corporate clients.
• Develop bespoke applications within Claromentis framework for individual corporate clients.
• Develop PHP Plug-ins for InfoCapture(our e-form) Product - Take over production development of our Sales Manager and InfoCapture (e-form) core products.
• Assist with issue resolution and patch generation as required.
• Contributing to Technical Support and Client Visits to agree specifications will be a part of this job.

The ideal candidate will ideally have a degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a similar discipline.

Skills

• Experience developing within a team environment
• PHP, MySQL, HTML, XML, CSS, Linux, Apache
• Knowledge of version control systems
• Knowledge in JavaScript & AJAX is beneficial
• Passionate about web2.0, mash-ups and developing web based software as part of a production team. Familiarity with Agile development would be advisable.
• Previous experience in production environments and with code version systems essential.
• Strong commitment to working closely in teams

Process

On review of your CV you will be sent a small practical task which will be used to assess your code quality and approach to development tasks. Success with this assignment will lead to interviews in our Brighton office.

Junior Application Support Technician

Location: Brighton UK

The role will report to the Support and Services Delivery Manager, and involves working within a small and dedicated support team.

The position involves the following tasks:

• Provide 1st Line and 2nd Line Support using the following methods
  • Support Ticket System
  • Email
  • Telephone
• Managing Remote Servers via SSH, RDP and VPN's
• Actively/Continually Explore and Learn the Software
• Create and Update Application User guides
• Support Portal Maintenance and User Management
• Bug Reporting/Application Testing

The employee will be expected to study and learn the software intensively during employment.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for IT support, and a natural ability to investigate and resolve support issues on a wide variety of platforms and subjects.

Essential Requirements:

• Competence towards problem solving/troubleshooting, using initiative to investigate issues reported to them.
• Candidates should have a good telephone manner, and show competence in their ability to represent the company in smart and presentable manner.
• Intermediate knowledge of HTML.
• Candidates should have excellent written English.
• Knowledge of DNS, VPN, RDP, FTP, SSH, HTTP.

Beneficial Requirements:

• Knowledge of ITIL is desired.
• Knowledge of Active Directory is desired.
• Competent with the understanding of LAMP, including the installation, configuration, and management of Linux web servers.
• Competent with the use of a command line/shell, and show a strong ability to navigate the Linux file system.

Salary:

Up to £17,000
