The countdown has officially begun

February 22nd, 2012

As you may already know, we have been eagerly awaiting our forthcoming software release Claromentis 7 for some time now. The initial planning process began during the summer of 2011, and our team of developers and designers officially started working on the project at the beginning of October.

During the last four months, tired computer screens have been replaced, working late into the evening has become the norm, and Alexander our lead architect from Russia – has become a permanent resident of the UK.

We are really excited to announce that there are just 27 working days left until we release Claromentis 7! Check out my blog on Friday to find out what the new release will consist of in terms of features and updates.

Functionality vs. Design

January 25th, 2012

Historically there are so many examples of products excelling in either functionality or design, but rarely both. Although, these qualities are now essential in order to create and maintain excellent user experience. At Claromentis we believe design should complement functionality, not contrast it.

When mobile phones were first introduced to the market, they were a revolutionary product, unleashing us from the constraints of a curly wire. Their poor design however soon became apparent – they were gargantuan in comparison to your head, they claimed a gravitational pull similar to that of a small planet, and their sheer weight burdened their owners.

At Claromentis, we believe that every intranet should encompass intelligent design and functionality, and this can be clearly seen from the snapshot below, taken from our upcoming software release Claromentis 7. Key functionalities are prominently displayed in an elegant manner, with ingenious design and usability incorporated into every detail.

The top bar allows the user to effortless access important information relevant to their organisation and it has been developed to remain on the page regardless of where the user navigates within their intranet.

New Intranet Trial Available!

January 18th, 2012

Many potential clients and partners request a sandbox to allow them to experience the full Claromentis functionality.

This had been an issue for us, as our live intranet demo actually locks down the users permissions in order to maintain the integrity of the site.

So using our cloud servers we now have available an intranet trial where you can request an instance from our sales team, who once they know your requirements can make your own personal trial instantly available. There is nothing to download – it is a fully functional Claromentis web platform that is ready for you to use immediately.

The official release day is Monday – but I happen to know its available from Friday – so if you would like to evaluate a professional intranet environment, just get in touch!

Core Team come down to earth

January 17th, 2012

After much elevated praise on the new Claromentis 7 web platform, the core team – well some of them anyway – today got down and dirty as part of making room for the latest developer to join the Brighton office!

As 30 minutes later we authorized yet another new hire they might as well have stayed down there for a few more minutes and ran another cable or two..

The power of information

December 12th, 2011

As I scrolled down our intranet news feed, I came across published articles regarding new and existing client projects, articles containing important information regarding new software features, and even an article containing a link to a population calculator. Needless to say I was quite intrigued by these articles and according to the population calculator, I was the 5,182,843,237th person born.

While I do have doubts as to whether or not this statistic was indeed accurate, I soon realised that this simple news system had provided me with a wealth of important information, within a matter of seconds.

One of the biggest challenges faced by organisations on a daily basis is their ability to effectively communicate with their employees – this somewhat underestimated tool provides organisations with an extremely effective solution to this challenge.

We have updated our news system for our upcoming software release (Claromentis 7) to ensure that this tool will help organisations improve service levels, aid business growth, enhance communication and enable important information to reach the correct audience.

Here’s an article from the current Claromentis News System

Here is an example of the new style and layout of the upcoming Claromentis 7 News System, and it still contains all of the great features associated with our current news system.

Prototype Demo of e-learning today

November 29th, 2011

We are working with a client under our sponsored development scheme to provide an e-learning module with the upcoming Claromentis 7 – and today we had the first prototype review with the client, the lead information architect and staff from Claromentis sales and marketing.

E-learning Prototype Review

I thought some aspects of the meeting were really instructional.

The value of the prototype

Following on from the initial scoping meeting the client had provided a well thought out specifications comprising several pages of written specifications. Comparing the understanding from the written specifications with the prototype that we created is just inspiring – how any company would want to code business logic straight from written specifications is beyond me.

The value of the framework

Coding in the Claromentis framework gives us so much access to instantly available and powerful functionality – such as permission systems, universal tagging, business processes – applications can be coded so much faster and with greatly increased quality.

The value of Claromentis 7 Standards

Now that the design standards of Claromentis 7 are available in the custom development team everything is so much more consistent, giving a much better end user experience as they move from standard platform products to their custom applications.

All in all a great meeting and we look forward  to the second iteration – the prototype can be shared with all stakeholders in the client team and round two will just be a few days away!

Over 1000 man-hours…but who’s counting!

November 24th, 2011

Here at Claromentis we are eagerly awaiting our forthcoming software release, Claromentis 7. So far over 1000 man hours has been dedicated into the project, with every minute component meticulously designed. Each day a crowd forms around Alan’s (our head designer) computer as he shows off new features, designs and updates. With mouths wide open and a sea of index fingers pointing at the screen, it is safe to say that we are more than impressed.

However don’t fret- with a series of blogs I will provide snippets of Claromentis 7, you can also share our excitement and anticipation!

Below is a screen shot of the new Document Management System. The fresh new design speaks for itself – with extensive thought, planning and piloting making this document management system an intelligent tool that will positively impact any organisation.
