We are working with a client under our sponsored development scheme to provide an e-learning module with the upcoming Claromentis 7 – and today we had the first prototype review with the client, the lead information architect and staff from Claromentis sales and marketing.

I thought some aspects of the meeting were really instructional.
The value of the prototype
Following on from the initial scoping meeting the client had provided a well thought out specifications comprising several pages of written specifications. Comparing the understanding from the written specifications with the prototype that we created is just inspiring – how any company would want to code business logic straight from written specifications is beyond me.
The value of the framework
Coding in the Claromentis framework gives us so much access to instantly available and powerful functionality – such as permission systems, universal tagging, business processes – applications can be coded so much faster and with greatly increased quality.
The value of Claromentis 7 Standards
Now that the design standards of Claromentis 7 are available in the custom development team everything is so much more consistent, giving a much better end user experience as they move from standard platform products to their custom applications.
All in all a great meeting and we look forward to the second iteration – the prototype can be shared with all stakeholders in the client team and round two will just be a few days away!
Here at Claromentis we are eagerly awaiting our forthcoming software release, Claromentis 7. So far over 1000 man hours has been dedicated into the project, with every minute component meticulously designed. Each day a crowd forms around Alan’s (our head designer) computer as he shows off new features, designs and updates. With mouths wide open and a sea of index fingers pointing at the screen, it is safe to say that we are more than impressed.

Most whiteboards have a relatively uneventful life, their mere existence revolves around gathering dust and living in the hope that one day a spider diagram will grace their shiny surface. Great to have had an enjoyable day this week with our external quality management auditors, and to have been approved for another year as a high quality company under the ISO 9001 framework.
Of course it is doubly interesting to have achieved this as we use our own framework and software products to assist us in our quality control. Specifically we use
We don’t use bookshelf, as we have only one brand and a reasonable number of policies that can be managed by PDF and application files
Audit manager for all of our internal audits
Business Process Manager for many processes that we use and our auditors need to inspect – such as complaints procedures and product change requests.
So it’s a great experience for us to be monitored and inspected as users of our own software.
I am pleased to say that we enjoyed the day – we certainly felt that our own software is very much helping us to improve our quality and our auditors agreed!
Here at Claromentis we experience great excitement when we are on the verge of embarking upon a client visit, we have travelled far and wide clocking up a considerable amount of air miles as our clients span 5 continents. With many clients also based within the UK, we have often made the journey to their offices by train with our laptops in tow.
Last week Mike and Julian visited one of our clients in Canada, the arctic terrain, 10 hour flight and the possibility of stumbling across an angry bear certainly did not deter or diminish their excitement.
It was a very insightful meeting allowing Claromentis to really understand their specific business requirements; as the organisation has recently experienced growth and development, there has been an increased need to streamline business processes to help contribute to the organisations overall efficiency. The organisation also expressed a desire for an application that enabled certain departments to add and update both content and images to their website effortlessly, eliminating the need for assistance from the IT department.
They were extremely pleased to discover that Claromentis offer comprehensive solutions for all their specific needs and requirements; our business process management software is designed to improve processes, capture data and shorten cycle time. We have also developed a comprehensive application called CMS (content management system) that equips organisations with the tools to edit images and content on their website without difficulty.
